Here are the lyrics to a song that I wrote last year. It started as a challenge from a friend to try to work the term Aurora Borealis into a song. We have been playing it a bit in a band that I play with called Before the Flood, but I also do it acoustically a lot. I will try to get some version of it recorded in the near future.
I want to see the Northern Lights,
Aurora Borealis,
Like an overflowing challis spilling colour 'cross the sky,
I want to see the Northern Lights.
I want to see the Northern Lights,
I want to see the cosmic dance,
Out across the great expanse flowing gowns of colour dance,
I want to see the Northern Lights.
Sometimes suburban life,
Feels like it's crowding me,
Houses people cars and strife,
I find it hard to breathe,
I just want to get away,
Leave the chaos for the breeze,
I want to see the Northern Lights.
